Amy Guerrieri, MSW, LSW
Amy, MSW, LSW, is a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed School Mental Health Provider. She is passionate about supporting children, teens, adults, and families navigate life's challenges with compassion, authenticity, and hope. Amy believes meaningful healing begins with feeling truly seen, supported, and accepted. Amy believes therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, curiosity, and a real genuine connection. Together, she works with clients to better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Amy discovered her passion for working with adolescents while managing an inpatient treatment facility for teens. Since then, she has worked extensively with youth in residential treatment and school settings, supporting children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, trauma, ADHD, emotional and behavioral challenges, chronic suicidal ideation, substance use, school-related concerns, and the impacts of sexual assault and grief. She is currently pursuing advanced training in the treatment of Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Amy enjoys working with children, teens, adults, and families and welcomes clients of all ages, identities, and backgrounds. She is proud to provide an LGBTQIA+ affirming space where clients can feel safe, respected, and free to be their authentic selves.
Her approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and tailored to each individual's needs. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), parts work, emotional regulation strategies, and practical coping skills to help clients better understand themselves and create lasting change. Amy believes behaviors tell a story. Rather than focusing only on changing behaviors, she works with clients and families to understand the "why" behind them, helping uncover patterns, build self-awareness, and develop meaningful, lasting change. She values collaborating with parents and caregivers when working with children and teens, believing that lasting progress happens when families feel supported and equipped with practical tools. Amy also enjoys helping clients recognize the progress they're making by combining measurable goals with each client's own experiences, making growth feel tangible and encouraging.
While Amy takes her work seriously, she doesn't believe therapy has to feel intimidating or overly formal. Her warm, energetic, and genuine personality often brings laughter, creativity, and moments of joy into the therapy room. She strives to create an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves, asking hard questions, and knowing they don't have to face life's challenges alone.
Above all, Amy hopes every person who walks into her office leaves feeling understood, hopeful for their future, and confident they can achieve meaningful changes in their lives.
